Outside of Computer Science, I enjoy several hobbies, and am always looking for new experiences to try. Here are some of my favorites.

The Outdoors

After growing up in Scouting and spending summers in Yellowstone and the Florida Keys, I have developed an appreciation for any and every sort of outdoor adventure. I have camped atop fog-covered mountains, beneath mangrove trees by the ocean, and everywhere in between. Some of my favorite outdoor stories came out of my summer as a guide in the Florida Keys, where I led nature hikes, fished for dinner, and snorkeled with reef sharks.

Music

I studied classical piano for 13 years, earning a minor in the subject at Belmont University. I have also taken some bass guitar lessons for those days when Beethoven and Bach just don’t rock hard enough. I love music concerts from all genres, especially rock, funk, and electronic.

Some other fun experiences I've had include ballroom dancing, martial arts, baking, barefoot running, racing triathlons, and shooting sports.

Security is mostly a superstition. It does not exist in nature, nor do the children of men as a whole experience it. Avoiding danger is no safer in the long run than outright exposure. Life is either a daring adventure, or nothing. -- Helen Keller
